Reformation Exhibition

The Cathedral Bookshop is hosting an exhibition of historical materials from the Centre for Coins, Culture and Religious History to mark the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther inaugurating the Reformation.

The exhibition will include artefacts from the late medieval period as well as the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

The materials will be updated each week over a four week period so that we can display all the items in the space available within the Bookshop:

Feb 5–Feb 16 — Hand written manuscripts prior to printing press

Feb 18–Mar 2 — Devotional works (Books of Hours) and musical texts

Mar 5–Mar 16 — Printed documents and other historical materials

Mar 18–Mar 29 — Coins, Icons and other items

When the exhibition at the Cathedral Bookshop concludes at Easter, the exhibition will tour Anglican Schools in the Diocese of Grafton to make these materials available to as wide a range of people as possible.

Other similar displays are planned for later in the year, with a new set of materials each school term.
