At 6.00pm on Sunday, December 15, the Cathedral will offer the beautiful service of Nine Lessons and Carols for Christmas.

 

This service will be familiar to many people because of the annual broadcast of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from the chapel of King's College, Cambridge.

 

The Cathedral Choir—under the leadership of Robert Eather, Director of Music at Christ Church Cathedral—will draw on the rich tradition of Christmas music to create a special service a week out from Christmas.

 

The service will be led by Dean Naomi Cooke, with various members of the Cathedral and CVAS communities reading the Lessons.

 

The service is open to people of all faiths who wish to celebrate the birth of Jesus with a beautiful service of music and sacred texts.

 

There will be an offering during the service to support the annual Christmas Bowl appeal.
